A contemporary reimagining of the correspondence between R. M. Rilke and F. X. Kappus. A book about communication in distant relationships through correspondence. It contains twenty-two letters—two of which are missing—and many fragments of thoughts and ideas that contrast with the reflections found in the writings exchanged by the two correspondents between 1903 and 1908.
To reinforce the importance of place in postal correspondence — and to contrast the bygone literary text with a more contemporary and playful tone — we took a trip on Google Earth, screenshotting all the post offices near the locations where the letters were sent. This served as a way to visualize what those places might look like now, more than 100 years later.
