Ideal Book – Valeria Ishitsuka
As someone who has always experienced the world through a highly visual lens, I find that images, colors, and shapes speak to me in ways that words alone cannot. I set out to create what I call “My Ideal Book”: A curated collection of 35mm film photographs taken over five years of living and traveling through Japan. Each image captures fleeting moments, quiet scenes, and important people preserved in the timeless medium of analog film.
The book’s design is intentionally compact, inspired by the size and spirit of postcards, with the vision that future editions will include removable pages, allowing people not only to keep these memories but to share them. This project isn’t just a book; it’s a tangible, emotional archive of visual memory meant to be held, revisited, and passed on. Visuals created with help of a 3D artist Raul Colorado.
