We made multiple dummies/prototypes simply with paper and glue. This helped us to determine the sequence of photos and the rhythm of the book.
From the photographer’s provided photo collection, we curated 30 ambiguous yet intriguing photographs to create a contemplative and mysterious atmosphere. The limited number of images invites a focused and reflective viewing. The sequence begins with a reflective image and continues by connecting subtle elements from one image to the next. Most appear on the right-hand page to guide the reader’s natural gaze and deepen engagement. Occasional shifts to the left page introduce surprise and pause.
“La imagen es paciente. Cuando la encuentras, te ofrece un espejo, un mapa o un laberinto.”
The image is patient. When you find it, it offers you a mirror, a map, or a labyrinth.
At the end of the sequence, a hidden folding page reveals a poem. Concealed until the final moment, it invites the reader to engage actively with the object, reinforcing the theme of discovery.
The cover maintains the theme of mystery, withholding images and playing with space between title and author. A photograph on the back continues this ambiguity. A serif typeface enhances the poetic tone, while foil-stamped typography reflects the light and shadow central to the photographs.
