TOMATO: ANYTHING BUT FRUIT
"TOMATO: ANYTHING BUT FRUIT” is a surreal photography series that reimagines the tomato as a stand-in for everyday round or oval objects before it’s ever called a fruit or vegetable. Each photograph isolates a tomato in place of a familiar item, creating visual tension through irony and absurdity.
The campaign uses this misplacement to challenge our need to label, categorize, and make sense of things. By placing the tomato in roles it was never meant to fill, the series highlights how objects—and by extension, identities—can resist fixed meaning. The creative intent is to celebrate misplacement as a form of resistance, to embrace the absurd and to rethink our need to fit things neatly into categories.
