Stark Radio

MED 24

Stark Radio is a community for people on the neurodivergent spectrum, tied through the sound of electronic music. Neurodivergent people have founded a pocket in the electronic music scene that has created a safe and inclusive space. As people on the spectrum have not been provided with many of the resources that they need, they have formed their own community.

As neurodivergent people process information differently, they have particular needs that are not often considered but can be easily provided. We want to do our part by creating an escape from the uncontrollable overstimulation provided by the outside world and internet. However, our radio is not only a platform to provide listeners with solace, but a place to uplift the people working in the community.

We want to share people’s experiences in the scene and highlight artists that are doing their part. Through normalizing these shared experiences and having artists that speak on neurodiversity, we will have a more inclusive space that not only provides an escape but also refuge.

Radio

The radio has two stations, SOOTHE which features calm and soothing electronic music, and STIM that has hyperpop and digital hardcore. Both of them are designed to focus on neurodivergent needs.

The Features, include stories from the neurodivergent community and embrace up and coming artists, sound engineers and producers.
