Temporality of AI: How Artificial Intelligence Obscures Time to Its Users?

This project investigates how AI influences and obscures the perception of time among its users. My research draws from diverse insights of MDRAI and my background as a temporality researcher from the Amazon Rainforest. The central research question explores how AI, as an eco-sociotechnical system, impacts temporal awareness and exacerbates societal issues like climate emergency.
"By accelerating daily life with real-time responses, AI reinforces urgency, and anxiety, while its reliance on historical data can trap users in a deterministic past. This project aims to highlight these invisible impacts, raising awareness through a video essay and a critical design artifact. These pedagogic tools aim to provoke critical thinking and foster discussions on AI's social and ecological footprints."
