Agua en el desierto
Born from a deep love for Lima and its deserts, this work responds to the severe crisis my city faces towards safe and equal water access. Although inspired and thought for Lima, this work is not meant exclusively for it. Water is a human right that is quickly overlooked when accesible but extremely visible and valuable when scarse. It is driven by a sense of systemic injustice and the helplessness that often comes with it, but also by the belief
In collective resilience and the possibilities that emerge when we choose to act within our reach. In this context, a water filter becomes a small, symbolic gesture: something literally within reach (al alcance de tus manos) that can improve water quality at a local level. At its core, the project is about sharing knowledge—where teaching how to make a water filter becomes an opportunity to build community around ceramics, health, and hands-on.
