Marina Olivares

MCCD 2025

Author image

Marina Olivares’ artistic practice delves into the entanglements of bodies — both human and other-than-human. She often incorporates elements of fiction to imagine postnatural desirable futures inspired by queer ecology as a political tool for present transformation. Her background in both visual and performing arts nurtures her transdisciplinary artistic expression –which unfolds through performance, installation, video, and photography, among other media– as well as an understanding of creation as a collaborative process.

Additionally, she has been part of several multidisciplinary scenic collectives. She was a co-founder and member of the horizontal collective Matriu.id (2020-2024), composed of nine professionals from different fields, united by a shared interest in experimental and multimedia theatre creation with a focus on care and new technologies.
