Daniel Woolhiser is a multi-disciplinary designer who draws upon his background in sculpture as well as his experience working in the footwear design industry. He particularly enjoys thinking through making, exploring materiality, means of production, storytelling and discovering new meaning through objects and materials.
From the age 7, Daniel was asking questions like :” what if watches were worn on our feet?” or
“what if I can turn my skateboard into a tricycle?” or “can I make a robot out of wood?”. These types of inquiries stemmed from growing up a very imaginative only-child.
While studying Industrial Design at RISD, Daniel became particularly interested in softgoods, digital fabrication and footwear-- the intersection between his interests in fashion, science and materials. He went on to work with brands such as PUMA and Reebok as a footwear designer.
Recently, he followed his creative impulses to Barcelona, to take part in the Master Beyond Products course at ELISAVA.
