Avektra
Since childhood, something has lived inside me: a vague voice that neither screams nor fades. It is a constant, unseen presence, like a ray of light slipping through a crack in the wall, never quite enough to brighten the room. This voice has been with me for years, resonating silently within.
After my father passed away, I found a small piece of paper among his belongings, a brief yet cryptic note that prompted me to search through myself.
Avektra is a passage between the in and out, past and present, pain and awareness. It is a small attempt to illuminate that darkened room. The title combines two words: ave, meaning “to face,” and tra, meaning “trauma.” This project functions as a visual response to an ever-present yet hidden force within me, an effort to consciously confront the memories deep in my psyche.
